#CWSS-01 Country Wives' Settlement Series, Front Closing Dress Set for a Working Class Woman Because of the drawstring construction, "Medium" will fit everyone from Size 8 through Size 18! Please specify sizing range when ordering. $30.00 This delightful pattern includes the British Settler's Plain Front Opening Dress, the Scottish Woman's Tied Ruffle Cap (also available below as part of the set, "British Regency Caps", #CWH03), cutting diagrams for two short-sleeved chemises created from originals in the collection of the Vancouver Museum (also available separately below as "Two Chemises", #CW22-02), plus suggestions and notes to complete the outfit of a settler of the early years of the 19th Century. Also included are a pattern for a pocket and diagrams for a pinner apron and a neck scarf. This dress's drawstring construction allows the same dress to be worn by a variety of women (perfect for historic sites, or for those of us whose size tends to vary), and the front closure allows you to -- at last! -- dress yourself in camp without external help! A note - the sewing line shown on the front of the shoulder in the drawing is not a seamline, but rather the stitching line for the shoulder facing on the inside of the garment. When the actual garment is constructed, this stitch line does not show. Also, the sleves are designed to fit extremely tightly, so please take this into account when ordering your size range and cutting your fabric. |

#PP031 Past Patterns Front Closing Gown, Fashionable Circa 1796-1806 Please specify sizing range when ordering. Sizing chart $25.00 Note: size range 16 - 20 is currently our of stock Copied, with permission, from an original in the Wayne County Historical Museum in Richmond, Indiana, this "diamond back" dress incorporates all of the classic internal construction of a front closing gown of the period, and closes with two ties at center front. Detailed instructions and excellent research and reference materials are included in this pattern, as are instructions for making a period neck kerchief (or "Modesty Cloth"). This is a relatively complex garment to construct, so we therefore do not recommend it for beginning sewers. Sizing chart |

#CWJ01 Country Wives' Country Woman's Jacket c. 1790 - 1820, Multi-Sized S, M, L (bust 32-44) $18.00 From Country Wives of Winnipeg, this jacket is based on the paintings of Walker, White, and Pyne, and on surviving men's jackets that, in form, are indentical to those represented by these painters. This jacket is a cold-weather outer garment, and should be made roomy enough to accommodate layers of clothing underneath and to permit physical labour. A super pattern from a super company -- and a super option to replace cloaks and capes that are difficult to do physical labour in. |

#SS105 Sense & Sensibility Regency Underthings, Multi-Sized 6 - 26D $15.00 Includes patterns for a proper period chemise (quite different from an 18th century chemise!), short stays that lace in front, and two chemisettes (neckline inserts for day wear and modesty -- and they help stave off sunburn!). Nicely done -- this is a pattern that we've needed for some time! These undergarments provide the foundation you need for a proper Regency silhouette from the skin out. The instructions are good, and the pattern comes with a lifeline for those who are not confident sewers, in the form of an extensive website and online help from the pattern's creator. Sizing chart |

#DD-01 Daffodown Dilly Regency Era Wrap Stays, Multi-Sized Small, Mediun, and Large $20.00 Brand new, and we love it! This pattern was inspired by an extant example, the "Corset Blanc" ("White Corset") in the Musee de la Mode Galliera, with influences from the early 19th century "brassiere" in the Kyoto costume collection. It has very extensive instructions that are illustrated with actual photographs (what a treat!), and everyone that we've seen in this set of stays looks fantastic. Includes an option for a short front busk. |

It includes front boning variations that are copied, with permission, from the Chester Counry Historical Society in West Chester, PA and Conner Prairie Museum in Indianapolis, IN. These are the perfect stays to wear under garments reflecting the transition between the long V-waisted styles of the late 1700s and the high-waisted Empire (Regency) styles of the early 1800s, including the Past Patterns Front Closing Gown (available above, #PP031). #CWSS-02 Country Wives' Two Chemises 1805-1807 $10.00 This pattern includes cutting diagrams only, not full size pattern pieces, as everything is worked from rectangular pieces of fabric. These two chemises are patterned from two extant garments in the Vancouver Museum, both of which have excellent provenance. View A is dated 1805-1807 and View B is dated 1807. They are different from the usual chemises in that they have shoulder straps sewn to the separate front and back pieces, much like the shoulder straps on the dresses of the day. When the drawstrings are adjusted, they sit very nicely on the shoulders and neckline. For those of us who have been looking for a square-necked chemise for years -- here it is at last, in View A! |
